How do I book?+
You can book online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at StorybookHawaii.com! Just browse your service, select your options, and follow the prompts. Our booking system will show you exact pricing including all fees and taxes as you go — no surprises.

How much does everything cost?+
Because we offer so many different services, packages, and combinations, pricing really varies! The easiest way to get an exact number is to simply start a booking at StorybookHawaii.com — the system will show you all the options and exact costs (with taxes and fees) as you go. You don't have to complete the booking to browse pricing.

It says there's no availability online. Is that right?+
Most likely not! Our online system automatically cuts off availability within a 2-week window to make sure we have enough time to properly staff and prepare for every booking. If your date is coming up soon, just give us a call at (808) 428-9698 — we can almost always accommodate and we'll get you taken care of right away!
How far in advance should I book?+
We recommend booking as early as possible — especially for weekends and holidays, which fill up fast! For character parties, 2–4 weeks in advance is ideal. Storybook Station party dates also go quickly. Makeover slots open a month in advance (see the Storybook Station section for details).
Can I book last minute?+
We do our best! For last-minute requests, please call us directly at (808) 428-9698 rather than booking online. Just a heads up: for last-minute bookings we do hold a 50% booking fee while we work to secure your talent — this protects both of us, since we put real effort into finding the right fit and can't have that work go to waste if plans change. We won't process the fee until we've confirmed availability!
What areas do you serve?+
We serve all of Oahu! We've also traveled to neighbor islands when the situation is right and the budget allows for travel coverage. If you're on another island, reach out and let's chat — we love making magic happen wherever we can. Our Storybook Station venues are at Windward Mall (Kaneohe) and Pearlridge Center (Aiea).

Yes! We work with trusted partners for cakes, balloon décor, and other party extras — and we handle the whole thing for you from start to finish. Just tell us what you're envisioning and we'll take it from there. One call, one contact, zero stress!

What kinds of characters do you offer?+

Can I request a specific character?+
Yes! You can browse and select from our full character roster when booking. If you have a specific character in mind and don't see them listed, reach out — we may be able to accommodate you!
Do your performers stay in character?+
Absolutely! Our performers are skilled actors who stay fully in character throughout the experience to keep the magic alive for your little ones.
Can characters come to a pool party?+
Yes! We offer Swimming Princesses and Swimming Mermaids who are specially trained and costumed for pool parties. It's one of our most popular and unique offerings in Hawaii! Book at StorybookHawaii.com.
Can characters come to a hotel or venue?+
Yes! Our performers can come to your home, backyard, hotel, park, venue, or event space anywhere on Oahu. Just let us know the location when booking.
Can I book more than one character?+
Definitely! Many of our party packages allow you to add additional characters. We also offer discount packages when booking multiple services — visit our Party Standards page for details.

We have two locations on Oahu! Both are open by appointment, and both offer walk-ins on Fridays 2:30–6pm, Saturdays 10am–6pm, and Sundays 10am–6pm.

It's not a franchise, not a catalog order, not a big-box play park — it's a completely original, visually stunning world built from scratch with love and imagination.

Guests often describe it as being completely engulfed in a magical world — it has an incredibly special, one-of-a-kind feeling that's hard to put into words until you've seen it.
🌊 Pearlridge Center (Aiea) is our newer location, open about a year, and offers a bit more space while keeping all the creativity and charm that makes Storybook Station what it is. It's a wonderful option if you're on the west side or looking for something a little more spacious.

Do I need an appointment?+
Appointments are strongly recommended for parties and makeovers to guarantee your spot! Walk-ins are welcome during our open hours (Fri–Sun), but availability isn't always guaranteed. We suggest calling ahead at (808) 428-9698 to check.
What is a fantasy makeover?+
A fantasy makeover is a magical salon-style experience where kids (and adults!) get face painting, nail painting, hair styling, and dress-up in a fantasy theme of their choice — mermaid, fairy, princess, pirate, dragon, and more! It's a completely one-of-a-kind experience you won't find anywhere else in Hawaii.
What age is best for a makeover or party?+
Our experiences are best for children ages 4 and up, though all ages are welcome! Kids of all genders and personalities love coming to Storybook Station — we have something magical for everyone.
Are boys welcome?+
100% yes! We have a great selection of boy-friendly themes including ninja, astronaut, Jedi, wizard, pirate, dragon, merman, and more. We'll ask how many boys are attending when you book so we can have everything ready for them!
What's included in a Storybook Station party?+
Our all-inclusive parties include a private venue rental, 3+ Storybook staffers, full fantasy makeovers, carefully planned entertainment, goody bags, custom décor, crafting supplies, invitations, and depending on the package — food, drinks, and cupcakes. Everything is handled so parents can truly relax and enjoy the magic!
What's the difference between the Petite Plus Party and the Premier Party?+
Great question — we get asked this a lot! The Petite Plus Party is our smaller package with the food add-on included, making it a great option for more intimate celebrations. The Premier Party is our larger, more comprehensive experience. Does the Premier Party include food?+
Yes! Our Premier Party includes 2 large pizzas (feeds approximately 8 children) and 12 vanilla cupcakes. If you have guests with food allergies, please let us know in advance so we can plan accordingly.
Can parents stay during the party?+
Yes! Parents are welcome to hang in our Mermaid Café area, or children can be dropped off as long as a parent is reachable at all times. For Premier parties, adults are welcome to return for the food portion — the last 30 minutes of the party. In a drop-off situation, it's helpful to have at least one adult present during the costume portion in case little ones need help getting changed.
What if a guest arrives late?+
Our parties run like a live show — activities are timed to a pre-recorded track and we start promptly at the scheduled time. We can usually weave in makeovers for latecomers throughout the party, but unfortunately we can't delay the start for other guests.
When does makeover availability open?+
To keep our party slots protected (since we only have one space!), makeover availability opens one month in advance on the 15th of the current month. Spots go fast — we recommend checking back right on the 15th and booking quickly!

Is face paint safe for young children?+
Yes! We use professional-grade, skin-safe face paints that are tested and approved for use on children. If your child has known skin sensitivities or allergies, please let us know beforehand.
How many children can get face painted per hour?+
Our face painters can typically do about 12 faces per hour. This is a great benchmark to help you figure out the right booking length for your guest count — just divide your number of kids by 12 and you'll have a solid estimate!
Can you do face painting AND balloons at the same event?+
Yes! We can book multiple services for the same event. Check out our discount packages for the best value when combining services — visit Party Standards for details.
What is Bubbles 'N Foam?+
Bubbles 'N Foam is one of our wildly popular outdoor entertainment experiences — think giant bubble shows, foam machines, and interactive fun that kids absolutely love! Great for larger events, school events, and backyard parties. Learn more here.

Do you require a deposit?+
Yes — we require a 50% deposit to secure your booking. Because we're holding your date and turning away other bookings to make sure we're ready for you, this deposit is 100% non-refundable.
That said, if you give us at least 24 hours notice, we can most likely reschedule you without any loss of your deposit. Life happens — just reach out as soon as you know and we'll do our best to work with you!

What about last-minute bookings — is there still a deposit?+
Yes. For last-minute requests, we hold a 50% booking fee while we work to confirm your talent. We don't actually process the charge until we've secured availability — we just want to make sure that if we put in the work to make it happen, both sides are committed. We appreciate your understanding!
Do you offer discounts for multiple services?+
Yes! We offer discount packages when you bundle multiple services together. Visit our Party Standards page to see current multi-service discount packages.
Is there a convenience fee when booking online?+
Our booking platform does add a small convenience fee — and we want to be upfront that we don't make any money on it. If you'd like to avoid it, just call us at (808) 428-9698 Mon–Fri 10am–5pm and we'll book you directly!
Do you accept cash?+
We are a cashless business! Your remaining balance will be collected via credit card during your confirmation call prior to your event. We'll make sure everything is squared away so the day of is completely stress-free for you.
Should I tip my performer?+
Tips are never required, but they are absolutely welcomed and deeply appreciated! Our performers put their hearts into every appearance, and a tip is a wonderful way to show your gratitude for a magical performance. 💛

What's the difference between a face character and a mascot?+
Face characters are performers in princess, superhero, mermaid, or similar costumes where their face is visible. They come to your event solo and interact directly with guests through conversation, singing, activities, and photos.
Mascot characters are full-body costumed characters (think big heads and full suits!). They arrive with a handler who acts as their eyes, ears, and voice — guiding them safely and interacting with guests on their behalf. Mascots take photos, give hugs, dance, and bring huge energy to any event!

Do mascots ever need a break?+
Yes — those costumes get hot! For bookings longer than one hour especially, our mascot performers may need a brief, discreet break to remove their head and cool down. We'll always find a private spot to do this so the magic stays intact for your guests. It's completely normal and planned for — your handler will manage this seamlessly!
